Paul Schwarz Deafheaven are like YONL. Happy to slowly "catch up". Like w lots of CGs, esp BP (inc BPoH, BPiS, BPiSunshine). Anyway, RtJ is a cracking first official shot - and just like YONL, even that first rough DEMO from BEFORE this has GOLD in them thar hills! Favorite track: Tunnel of Trees.

Caleb Bratcher Some of the drum transitions are fantastic and the shoegaze element really makes the album stand out among a sea of mediocre black metal. It's hard to say something about deafheaven that hasn't already been said but that's because they are just so fantastic. Favorite track: Unrequited.
Matthew Toye

Matthew Toye Powerful stuff. It's the band's crowning achievement and has never been too far from my ears. The album's allure remains in continually coming back to it and still find plenty to be impressed about. Favorite track: Language Games.
